George Mueller was a drunk and rebel until his life turned completely around and he became a godly man dedicated to the care, support, and education of thousands of orphan children.
Jim Vaus was a gangster who grew up in a Christian home and had a great job. He dealt with criminals and law enforcement agencies and discovered that crime paid better. He got caught, paid his debt to society and then turned his life around and is now working with troubled youth in Harlem.

THE MIRACLE OF THE NEW BIRTH
New birth is the beginning of a new spiritual life. (1 Peter 1:23)
New birth = conversion or salvation
Conversion represents an about-face in the direction of one’s life, a change from unbelief to faith. (Matthew 18:3)
Salvation means the rescue of a person from the penalty and power of sin. (1 Peter 1:4-5)
What is new birth?
New birth is a SPIRITUAL occurence (John 3:6)
New birth is a SUPERNATURAL event (Jonah 2:9)
- It can not be produced by man, inherited by blood, and man cannot experience conversion by wishing it to be done. (John 1:13)
New birth is a SOVEREIGN act of God. God gives the offer of salvation without asking permission of anyone. (John 3:8)
Spiritual birth occurs INSTANTANEOUSLY. The moment a person looks by faith to Jesus and trusts Him as Saviour he receives everlasting life. (John 3:36)
